Head Races: In the fall, races are longer with a lower intensity and slower stroke rate. The fall is a time to test technique and endurance. Races are typically 5000 meters
(3 miles) long. Evergreen Typically races at one or two events in late october and early november.
Sprint Races: Spring races follow the olympic model. They are 2000 meters (1.25m) long, in a straight line, with boats lined up next to each other. Sprint racing requires maximum aerobic and anaerobic effort. The spring race season runs fro the end of march through mid-may.
Additionally, the crew usually participates in at least indoor rowing maching (erg) race per year in mid february.
